When it came to nighttime potty training with Caleb, we had to get creative.  I remember cutting open a plastic garbage bag, spreading it out and underneath a sheet so that if he had an accident in the middle of the night, it wouldn’t soak through to his mattress.  The only problem?  The poor kid would sweat like crazy because the garbage bags weren’t breathable, and they were non-absorbing.  So if he did end up having an accident, it would just pool around him.

When my kids have the stomach flu, I gather every clean towel I can find and use them to cover about 3 feet surrounding them, what I call the “blast zone,” then I spend the next 2 days doing laundry from all of the towels we’ve used.

When we’re packing for a vacation, I like my kids to help out.  The most important items on the list for them are a pillow, big blanket, and their favorite stuffed animal.  I don’t mind bringing these comfort items, but they just end up taking up quite a bit of room in the van.  And it feels like they’re constantly falling out of the cars at gas stations or slipping out of their reach after they’ve just settled in.  Plus, doesn’t it just look like a lot??  {Seems anything but comfortable to me!}

There’s nothing more frustrating than getting all ready to go swimming, only to get to the pool and have to completely undress baby June because she needs a diaper change. I have now been the proud owner of several Smitten Baby SnackPodz and one Wet ‘N’ Clear Tote and I have to say, I’m loving them!  I started with one, and liked it so much that I had to add a few more for different things.  One holds crayons, one holds snacks, and one holds random things floating around in my diaper bag.  I love the patterns and bright colors…makes me feel like a trendy mom instead of a frumpy mom.
